Beadlow Manor to represent England in Junior Team Home Nations Final
Following their runners up performance in the England Final of the 2016 Junior Team Golf competition, Beadlow Manor juniors travel to Portugal on Saturday 11 February to compete in a tournament to find the best junior section within the Home Nations.
Following progression to their county final, which they won for the fourth year running, the Beadlow Manor juniors along with other county finalists from across England were invited to compete in the Junior Team Golf (JTG) event. The team came through three tough rounds of competition against junior sections from all over the country to be recognised as one of the top two in England coming runners up at Studley Wood. The same team who represented the club at the England Final will all now travel to The Algarve for the Home Nations Final. Luke Charalambous, Conner Penning, Jamie Gibbons, Ben Loveard, Will Murray, Lewis Vereecque and Jack Munson have been preparing through January with group practice sessions overseen by our club professional Alistair Halliday, and are quietly confident of a good showing in the 8 team event.
The JTG event, which has been running for over 20 years, has grown into one of the biggest and most prestigious junior team tournaments in existence, and is the only one in the British Isles and Ireland supported by the R&A, and the four national golf unions. This year the final will be played at Morgado Golf Resort near Portimao (over both Morgado and Alamos golf courses) for the Nigel Dolton Trophy and will receive Sky Sports coverage for a program to be aired later in the year.
